Palmetto is a semi-dwarf St. Augustine grass that stands out for its exceptional performance in shady conditions, making it a top choice for Phoenix lawns with limited sunlight. However, it also thrives in full sunlight, showcasing its versatility. Palmetto has a coarse texture and a bright green color that adds vibrancy to any landscape. It is the most heat-tolerant of all St. Augustine cultivars, which is crucial for surviving Phoenix’s intense summers. Its excellent shade tolerance allows it to grow well under trees and in other low-light areas where other grasses might struggle. Palmetto should be mowed at heights between 1 1/2″ and 3″ using a sharp rotary mower to maintain its health and appearance. While its drought tolerance is fair, it may require more water than Bermuda grasses, but its ability to stay green and lush makes it a popular choice for those seeking a low-maintenance, shade-friendly lawn.

Turf grass is a perishable product. It does have to be Installed the same day it is delivered. If the turf grass goes bad you will still be charged for it. The turf grass will have to be reordered & you will be responsible for this payment too.
